From acid attacks to civil rights conflicts to superstitions steeped in sexism, Omar struggles to contextualize Pakistan—an old country facing new ideas.

About the Filmmaker—Dr. Hassan Zee

After graduating from medical school at the age of 26, Dr. Zee began his career treating women in a burn unit in Pakistan. Since then he has devoted his life towards helping bring awareness to women's rights through his work in film. In Good Morning Pakistan, his fourth film, Dr. Zee focuses on the need for a change in a country where the beauty of the land doesn’t always match its societal problems.

The War of 1812 has revived violent hostilities between the British and their erstwhile American colonial subjects.
