Something isn’t quite right in Salton City. The discovery of a psychic talking skull leads to many questions.

Director Biography - Gary Hebert

Gary Hebert is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Los Angeles, California. His work ranges from motion graphics to film or music depending on the particular inspiration or day of the week.

Gary is best known for his motion graphic work including title sequences such as Bourne Ultimatum, The Kingdom, and Lost in Space. He has also worked on broadcast design packages for clients such as CBS Sports, HBO, and AMC.

Most recently Gary has designed and animated concert content for clients such as Paul McCartney, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga.

Gary has written and directed several narrative projects including the animated Daniel Finds His Walking Stick, which played in over 30 film festivals internationally and won multiple awards and the award winning feature film, Thursday’s Speaker.

Gary has finished his most recent animated short, Salton City, which is intended to be the introduction to a longer narrative. The development of this narrative will take place over multiple formats and distribution channels.

Gary attended school at Michigan State University, Grand Valley State University, and Animation Mentor. He made his first film, a claymation short, at the age of ten.

Director Statement

Salton City was inspired by the actual location along the shore of the Salton Sea. It’s an unfinished, abandoned subdivision that’s being reclaimed back into the desert. It seemed like a great location for an otherworldly narrative with fringe characters. I hope to keep the story moving forward with updates in maybe a graphic novel format as well as smaller animated pieces. Perhaps there will be a twitter feed. And then a movie.

About The Event

Ted Geoghegan 2017, USA, 91 mins

The War of 1812 has revived violent hostilities between the British and their erstwhile American colonial subjects. The powerful Mohawk nation of the New York region is divided as to whom they should stand by, and so they maintain a position of neutrality. They want no part in the killing – but the killing is coming to them. An impulsive attack on an American encampment has drawn the vengeful attentions of a ragged band of American military renegades, led by the vicious, racist Hezekiah Holt. Oak, Calvin, and their British lover Joshua flee into the woods so familiar to them, but the murderous musketeers on their trail will not be deterred. Not without the spilling of blood.
