Frameline FangsIntroducing a Special Queer Horror Halloween Program! San Francisco

This October, Frameline is excited to announce our first ever Halloween program: Frameline Fangs! Fangs is an evening of queer horror, featuring back-to-back screenings of two bizarre and lurid films to get you in the Halloween spirit.

Tuesday, October 22, 6:30pm The Roxie Theater, SF

Knife + Heart

is the mesmerizing giallo throwback from visionary director Yann Gonzalez (You and the Night, Frameline38) in 35mm. The wildest, queerest film to screen in competition at the Cannes Film Festival in years, Knife + Heart has been called "a gleefully trashy exploitation film that deserves a spot in the queer horror hall of fame" - Bloody Disgusting. French pop star Vanessa Paradis is sensational as Anne Parèze, an ambitious gay porn director in 1970s Paris whose cast and crew become the targets for a mysterious masked killer. With little help from the homophobic police, Anne tries to uncover the killer while finishing her magnum opus. Featuring a fantastic score inspired by Italian horror films of the '70s by M83, Knife + Heart also stars Félix Maritaud (Sauvage), Elina Löwensohn (Apocalypse After, Frameline43), Romane Bohringer (Savage Nights), and Jacques Nolot (Before I Forget, Frameline32).  Dir Yann Gonzalez, 2018. 110 min. 35mm.

Ew Yuk!

is a delightfully macabre San Francisco episodic short from the minds of local drag sensations Jillian Gnarling and Mica Sigourney (VivvyAnne ForeverMore). The series follows two trolls in SF as they fart and puke their way through the mundane actions of getting an Uber Pool, thrifting, and going to In-n-Out. Shot entirely on 16mm, this decidedly fun and endearingly gross series truly captures the art and drag scene of SF today.

Dir Jader, DP, Chantel Beam, 2019. 6min. DCP.

Fans of Frameline's Dark Twisted Fantasies program and #horror lovers alike will have a blast! Costumes are encouraged! Weirdos are more than welcome! Come celebrate the Halloween season with Frameline.
