Color us Giallo for our only free screening this weekend (and the last one until after our upcoming film festival on Zoom, see below) when we present the Director's Cut of Lucio Fulci's "The New York Ripper." Come watch the film with us and discuss it via the chat-box (audience microphones and cameras are disabled during the show).

In 1982, The New York Ripper was screened for the British Board of Film Classification, where one member described it as "Simply the most damaging film I have ever seen in my whole life." Consequently, the film was banned in the United Kingdom, where it could not be sold or owned until 2002, when the notorious "Video Nasties Act" was repealed.

A knife-wielding psychopath murders a series of beautiful women in vicious and inventive ways, pursued by a cynical NYPD detective (is there any other kind?). And, oh yeah--the psycho talks like Donald Duck!

Shot on location in New York, with interiors filmed in Rome. Fulci considered this film his tribute to Alfred Hitchcock, describing it as "Much less horror than my previous films, no zombies, but a human killer working in the dark."

We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience, but AHITH's Free Zoom Screenings are going on hiatus until October 3rd so that George, Romany, and Benji can concentrate full time on their upcoming film festival, Mr. HoleHead's Warped Dimension (September 24 - 29). We're presenting a Free Preview at 5 pm next Saturday, September 19th, with trailers and clips for virtually everything we'll be screening during the festival. [*Due to increased security concerns, we now require a simple registration for each show (if you haven't done so already, you can sign up with Zoom for free at https://us02web.zoom.us/signup). When you click on the Zoom Registration Link above, you'll be asked to enter your name and an email address where we can send the direct link to the show, plus a 6-digit passcode for admission. Please do not share your link or passcode with anyone.]
