This epic blend of Science Fiction and Fantasy was directed by Peter Yates (Bullit, Breaking Away) and stars Ken Marshall, Lysette Anthony, Freddie Jones, Francesca Annis, and Alun Armstrong. It also features early performances by Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane as bandits.
The planet Krull is invaded by an army of Slayers, led by an entity known as the Beast, who travels in a mountain-like spaceship called the Black Fortress which teleports to a new location every day at sunrise. A prince and princess plan to marry and form an alliance between their rival kingdoms, in the hope that their combined forces can defeat the Beast's army. The Slayers attack before the wedding ceremony is completed, killing the two kings, devastating both armies, and kidnapping the princess. The prince retrieves a legendary weapon and sets out to rescue his bride, gathering a diverse band of allies along the way.
