The Salton Sea is one "hellva" of a collusion course in mixed genre Hollywood meets post Pulp Fiction indie crime capers. Made around 2002 back during the WARNER INDEPENDENT days with very little ad fare---Val Kilmer giving all stops in his last leading man role of dual performance in haunted jazz musician Danny Parker and crystal meth bum Thom Van Allen. An adrenal pumped ensemble dark comedy with meditative Zen proses by Kilmer, druggy hang out nonsense via LOU REED Karaoke, and a haunting revenge love story all smashed together into a 100 percent pure LA neo-noir screen story!
Not only is this Kilmer at his neo-noir starry eyed best---the crime caper over driver button here featuring an ensemble of heavy hitter character actors from Danny Trejo, Peter Sarsgaard, Glenn Plummer, Luis Guzman, Deborah Kara Unger, Anthony LaPaglia, Doug Hutcherson and Vincent D'Onofrio in a career best performance as a noseless meth cook mad man named "Pooh Bear".
A smoldering yellow vaped smoke journey into wild and touching story of losing reality and time with Val Kilmer & CO. steering the metro bus into a desert wasteland hell.

IMDB Synopsis---
After the murder of his beloved wife, Danny Parker (Kilmer) is set adrift in a world where nothing is as it seems. On his journey he befriends slacker Jimmy the Finn (Peter Sarasgaard) and becomes involved in rescuing his neighbor Colette from her own demons. Danny is antagonized by undercover narcotics agents and sadistic dealer Pooh-Bear.
