"The Last Frankenstein" screens during the 18th Another Hole in the Head 2021 film festival this Dec

Buried in a dormant life and a dead end relationship, Dr. Jason Frankenstein--the last of his family--is frustrated to find himself approaching mid-life while having shown little progress towards advancing his family's experiment. But after a creature from his past brutally re-enters his life, he is catalyzed to finally complete his work. With the help of a pair of drug dealing paramedics and a nurse with a shady past, he sets down the blood-soaked path to create a living being from the bodies of the dead.

San Francisco’s ‘Another Hole in the Head’ Film Festival is a 15-day cinematic excursion into the realms of Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, and assorted other genres. Taking its cue from other legendary festivals such as Cannes and Sundance, Another Hole in the Head pulls together a diverse collection of films representing all varieties and budgetary considerations. Another Hole in the Head provides a unique vehicle for independent cinema. This year’s festival takes place from December 1st - December 15th 2021. The festival will take place Live at San Francisco's New People Cinema in Japantown, Live on Zoom and Video On-Demand on Eventive.

With this festival, we seek broader horizons than the common interpretation of "genre film" allows. All styles of independent film are welcome to compete: whether it's a major production from a professional company, a student film, or a micro-budget labor of love, we are committed to giving each film due consideration.
