Not to be confused with the two similarly-named films from the 1980s. This is the full 96-minute version that debuted in the UK (the film was trimmed to 83 minutes and retitled "Curse of the Demon" for its 1958 American release).
Directed by Jacques Tourneur (best known for "Out of the Past" and the original "Cat People"), this adaptation of the M. R. James story "Casting the Runes" stars Dana Andrews, Peggy Cummins and Niall MacGinnis.
While visiting Britain to attend a parapsychology convention, an American psychology professor runs afoul of a sinister occultist. As the professor races against time to save himself from a deadly curse, he finds an ally in the niece of a previous victim.
