Director Biography - Ariel Zengotita
Ariel Zengotita is a Latin American filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Co-founder of Squid Valley, a creative super-team with over a decade of experience in Narrative, Commercial, and Digital Media. Ariel has written and directed a number of commercials for brands like Gillette, Pepsi, General Mills, SteelSeries, and more. He’s also directed several award-winning short films that have screened at festivals across the country.
Ariel is the Creative Director of Squid Valley, and currently works as a Senior Editor at FaZe Clan.
Director Statement

Admittedly the premise of Flick is immature, however, I wanted to explore deeper themes of anxiety and isolation using a booger as the vehicle. Having an anxiety disorder, I know what it's like to get stuck in a hellish loop of obsessive thinking. I wanted to tell this story as a way of exorcising that feeling, but also have it serve as a cautionary tale against self-destructive habits.
But at the end of the day, it's a movie about a guy trying to flick a booger off his finger, so take it as you will.
