SF IndieFest is pleased to announce the dates and complete program for the 16th Another Hole In The Head Film Festival which takes place December 1 - 15 at the THX certified New People Cinema in San Francisco’s Japantown. The festival will once again bring the freshest new independent genre films from around the world to San Francisco audiences. 1pm ASSORTED FLAVORS 1 - SHORTS PROGRAM An eclectic collection of eleven short films.

3pm THE BOLD, THE BEAUTIFUL & THE BIZARRE - SHORTS PROGRAM A collection of fifteen art/experimental short films.

5pm HEY MONSTER, HANDS OFF MY CITY (Local film, cast and crew in attendance) (USA, Directed by Michael Meehan) Comedy, Crime, Horror  Hey Monster, Hands off my City is a visual vibrant and absurdly comedic film featuring a who’s who of San Francisco comedians. Featuring Jonny Steele and Reggie Steele as the leads, the cast includes Michael Meehan, Dwoira Galilea, Michael Pritchard, Greg Proops, and Linda Hill.

7pm EAT BRAINS LOVE (USA, Directed by Rodman Flender) Horror, Comedy, Romance  An ordinary lunch hour explodes in an orgy of spurting blood and flying organs when stoner Jake Stephens and cheerleader Amanda Blake suddenly gut-munch half their class in the school cafeteria.Comedy, Crime, Horror The director of IDLE HANDS delivers an outrageous, gore-soaked zom-rom-com.

9pm SHE NEVER DIED (Canada, Directed by Audrey Cummings) Thriller, Horror, Supernatural Lacey, a socially detached loner is cursed with immortality and her never-ending tedium of existence. In her attempts to keep her compulsions in check, she seeks out the darkest souls humanity has to offer. Lacey must now face her own inner demons while simultaneously finding her next meal.

Mon, Dec 2 7pm THE MAN WITH THE SILVER CASE (USA, Directed by Colin Best)  Thriller, Film Noir, Political  Already killing himself with drugs and alcohol, an anonymous American agent, the Man in Gray, accepts a deadly job: deliver a suitcase to a shadowy organization...

9pm ROT (USA, Directed by Andrew Merrill)  Horror, Drama A grad student breaks up with her boyfriend to focus on her thesis, not realizing something has infected him and that he's going to wreak havoc on her life.

Tues, Dec 3 7pm 8 (South Africa, Directed by Harold Holscher)  Horror, Supernatural, Suspense Bankruptcy forces William Ziel (Garth Breytenbach) to return to the farm he inherited from his estranged father in an attempt to start a new life with his young, fragmented family.

9pm X (Local Film, cast and crew in attendance) (USA, Directed by Scott J. Ramsey) Dark comedy, Melodrama, Thriller, LGBTQ No fantasy is too obscene at the masquerade balls hosted by Christian King, known to her guests as X. The monthly masked debauchery that takes place at her beachside estate is all fun and games until the arrival of an unexpected guest from Christian's past threatens to bring to light her darkest secret.

Wed, Dec 4 7pm THE TANGLE (USA, Directed by Christopher Soren Kelly) Sci-Fi, Neo-Noir In the near future, the Tangle, an AI with airborne nanotech, connects the world. The Tangle is benevolent; it has stopped crime, keeps us well and safe.  But to make sure it never turns rogue a government agency watches over them from within technology safe rooms, locations impermeable to the nanobots that make up the Tangle. When field agent Margot Foster is found dead in one of these rooms, the agency needs to investigate the first murder in years. 

9pm RANGE RUNNERS (USA, Directed by Philip Plowden)  Thriller, Survival, Action  A woman hiking an isolated trail runs into trouble when her pack is hijacked by two men hiding out in the woods, desperate and on the run. Now, stranded and left to fend for herself, she has a choice: crawl back to her normal life in defeat, or push forward and take back what was stolen. 

Thurs, Dec 5 7pm BEL AIR  (USA, Directed by Christopher Coppola)  Comedy, Drama Christopher Coppola's tongue-in-cheek spin on SUNSET BOULEVARD stars brother Marc as a pizza delivery guy who dreams of recapturing his onetime glory as a child television star.

9pm CHRISTOPHER COPPOLA’S SFAI STUDENT FILM BONANZA Hosted by Christopher Coppola A night with Christopher Coppola and his students from SFAI

Fri, Dec 6 7pm THE DEEPER YOU DIG (USA, Directed by John Adams) Drama, Horror Ivy and Echo are not your typical mother-daughter team. Ivy, once an intuitive psychic, makes an easy buck as a bogus tarot card reader; 14-year-old Echo likes old-timey music, hunting, and black lipstick. When reclusive Kurt moves down the road to restore an abandoned farmhouse, an accident leads to Echo’s murder, and suddenly three lives collide in mysterious and wicked ways. 

9pm HOLY TRINITY  (USA, Directed by Molly Hewitt)  Comedy, Drama  Trinity is an independent, sex-positive millennial working as a Dominatrix in Chicago. After an incident huffing her drug of choice—a mysterious aerosol can from the ubiquitous Glamhag brand—she finds herself with a newfound gift for speaking to the dead. 

11pm THE FURIES  (Australia, Directed by Tony D’Aquino)  Thriller, Action, Horror, Revenge  A woman is kidnapped and finds herself an unwilling participant in a deadly game where women are hunted by masked men.

5pm CHANGING TIMES OF IKE WHITE (USA, Directed by Dan Veron)  Documentary Ike White was a musical prodigy serving life in prison since age 19. His luck changed when he had the opportunity to record in prison the album “Changin’ Times” (1976) with WAR producer Jerry Goldstein. Decades later, filmmaker Daniel Vernon tracks down White out of prison, living in obscurity, and the story takes a dramatic twist.

7pm PHANTOM OF WINNIPEG (Canada, Directed by Malcolm Ingram & Sean Stanley) Documentary  The unbelievable story of how Brian De Palma’s PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE became a local sensation in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

9pm PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE (USA, Directed by Brian De Palma)  Comedy, Drama, Fantasy  Ari Kahan is a co-producer of PHANTOM OF WINNIPEG, and also wrote, produced and directed a variety of supplemental features for the bluray releases of PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE, recently completing a director-approved restoration of the film. Kahan will introduce this special screening of De Palma’s 1974 horror rock opera.

Sun, Dec 8 11am LITTLE MONSTERS - SHORTS PROGRAM A collection of nine short films about those... very special children.

1pm STRANGERS WITH EYE CANDY - SHORTS PROGRAM A collection of eleven animated short films.

3pm THE LAWLESS ONES - SHORTS PROGRAM A collection of six short, gritty crime films.

5pm GREENLIGHT  (USA, directed by Graham Denman)  Director Jack Archer (Chase Williamson) can’t seem to catch a break in Hollywood. Ambitions of directing his first feature film are hopeless. Enter B-movie producer Bob Moseby (Chris Browning) who sees Jack for what he truly is, a talented filmmaker. He offers Jack the opportunity to direct his first feature. However, Jack’s dream job quickly descends into a nightmare…

7pm CONAN THE BARBARIAN WITH LIVE DOOM RE-SCORE BY SLEEPBOMB (USA, Director John Milius) Drone/doom collective Sleepbomb has been delivering mind-blowing live soundtracks to audiences for years. Now it's your turn San Francisco! Come experience Sleepbomb's original live score for the 1982 classic sword and sorcery epic CONAN THE BARBARIAN, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role he was born for. 

Mon, Dec 9 7pm SENIOR LOVE TRIANGLE (USA, Directed by Kelly Blatz)  Drama, Comedy, Romance  An 84-year old charming but delusional WWII veteran forms relationships with two elderly women and goes on a crusade to save them from the isolation of their retirement homes in East Hollywood.

9pm ARTIK (USA, Directed by Tom Botchii) Horror, Thriller  A comic book obsessed serial killer teaches his son how to get away with a series of brutal murders, until the boy befriends a mysterious man who threatens to expose everything.

Tues, Dec 10 7pm EASY DOES IT (USA, Directed by Will Addison)  Adventure, Crime, Comedy  Shot with a gritty '70s road-movie aesthetic, EASY DOES IT follows the scrappy anti-heroics of two Mississippi no-hopers on a treasure hunt of epic proportions. In their chase for the American Dream, these not-so-natural-born killers somehow stumble into national notoriety as public enemies number one and two. 

9pm HOUSESITTER...THE NIGHT THEY SAVED SIEGFRIED’S BRAIN (USA, Directed by Robin J. Nuyen)  Horror, Sci-fi, 80's Filmed in 1987, HOUSESITTER sat unfinished for thirty years. Now, with post sound from Skywalker Sound and final picture from Paramount Pictures’ color department, it is at last completed. Combining 1980’s horror and 1950’s sci-fi, it is the story of Andy, an idealist medical student with a serious Elvis obsession, and a determination to perfect his rat-to-rat brain transfer to “help mankind and change the face of modern science”. 

Wed, Dec 11 7pm STAY OUT STAY ALIVE  (USA, Directed by Dean Yurke) Horror, Supernatural, Thriller  Shadowed by a haunting presence in the redwood forest, five young hikers discover an abandoned goldmine dating back to the Gold Rush and descend into madness and greed as the pursuit of easy riches consumes them.

9pm THE WRETCHED (Canada, Directed by Brett Pierce & Drew T. Pierce) Horror, Suspense  A defiant teenage boy, struggling with his parent's imminent divorce, faces off with a thousand year-old witch, who is living beneath the skin of the woman next door.

Thurs, Dec 12 7pm BLACK CIRCLE  (Sweden, Directed by Adrián García Bogliano)  Mystery, Horror, Thriller  The lives of two sisters change dramatically after being hypnotized by a mystical vinyl record from the 1970s.

9pm DEAD DICKS (Canada, Directed by Chris Bavota & Lee Paula Springer)  Horror, Sci-Fi, Bizarre After Becca receives a distressing call from her suicidal brother Richie, she rushes over to his apartment and finds him alive and well - surrounded by copies of his own dead body.

Fri, Dec 13 7pm 1974  (Mexico, Directed by Victor Dryere)  Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi  In 1974, a couple vanished without a trace, according to Mexican authorities. A recently discovered 8mm film has been determined to be the home movies shot by the young newlyweds. This footage is the documentation of the horrifying possession of a young woman, her husband's battle against the paranormal, and the unstoppable destruction of their lives. 

9pm BENEATH THE BLACK VEIL (USA, Directed by Jason M. Koch)  Horror  When Aaron and Genna learn that the charges against the Amazon delivery driver who ran over their son have been dropped, they decide to take justice into their own hands. 

11pm FRIDAY THE 13TH “REVISON”  (USA, Directed by Jorge Torres-Torres) Horror 83 Jason kills in 85 minutes! Filmmaker Jorge Torres-Torres, who previously created fan edits of both PHANTASM and THE EVIL DEAD, just delivered his coup de grâce, a complete reimagining of the entire Friday the 13th franchise.

Sat, Dec 14 11am THROUGH RAINBOW LENSES - SHORTS PROGRAM A special collection of eight short LGBT+ oriented dramas, comedies, and music videos.

1pm GODS & DEVILS - SHORTS PROGRAM A collection of nine short films about powerful supernatural beings, both good and evil.

3pm ASSORTED FLAVORS III - SHORTS PROGRAM An eclectic collection of eight short films.

5pm GIANTESS ATTACK VERSUS MECHA FEMBOT (USA, Directed by Jeff Leroy) Science Fiction, Action, Comedy With Earth in peril from deadly space monsters and military madmen, only one thing can save the planet: Giantess Attacks! When they raise their Betamax Capsules skyward, two unemployed Hollywood actresses grow 100 feet tall and are able to crush buildings and foes.

7pm DO NOT REPLY (USA, Directed by Daniel Woltosz & Walter Woltosz)  Horror Chelsea, a high school introvert, is abducted through a social media app and is forced to look like other girls Brad holds captive. Chelsea desperately attempts to persuade them to escape before they all become victims in his virtual reality filmed murders.

9pm THE DEAD ONES  (USA, Directed by Jeremy Kasten)  Horror  For four outcast teens, summer detention means being assigned to clean their high school after a horrific incident. But they are not alone; a macabre gang wearing guises of The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse has locked them inside and is hunting them through the school's ravaged hallways. US premiere.

5pm GET GONE  (USA, Directed by Michael Thomas Daniel)  Horror  GET GONE follows a group of Internet hoax busters on a team building retreat led by a local outdoor guide. Things go sideways when the hoax team crosses paths with the backwoods Maxwell family who’s currently warring with a drilling company. And once the hoax team’s hidden agenda comes to light, things get much worse.

7pm THE MACBETH SYNDROME (USA, Directed by Christopher Coppola)  A Comedy Tragedy Parallax  World premiere! THE MACBETH SYNDROME is about a middle-aged B-movie director/film professor from a legendary Hollywood Dynasty living in San Francisco. He is told by a palm reader at the North Beach Café Trieste that a new Macbeth film is coming his way to direct and that there’ll be a time he will be the most famous member of his family.   He is amused at first but gradually his psyche begins to spiral out of control. No one is safe, not even himself...

9pm TO YOUR LAST DEATH (USA, Directed by Jason Axinn)  Animation, Horror  After emerging as the sole survivor in a deadly revenge game set up by her father to punish his children, Miriam receives an offer from a supernatural entity to go back in time and try again. Now, Miriam must survive both her father's blood lust and the Gamemaster's ever-changing rules to save her siblings as she relives the worst night of her life.
